UFC Hall of Famer Dana White told the BBC’s Good Morning Britain that the only way to fully recover from a broken heart is to get it out of the system and onto a different path.
“I want to make sure that I can look at the positives and the negatives of what happened and I want to take a look at that and find a way to move forward,” White said.
“There are a lot of things I’ve learned and a lot I’ve learnt from the sport that I’ve done.
There are a whole bunch of things that have happened that have helped me heal, and I think that it’s been a lot to process.”
The former heavyweight champion and UFC Hall-of-Famer, who has battled various health issues over the years, was asked about his own emotional life and what it was like to fight the man he once idolised.
“My life has been a nightmare,” White told BBC Breakfast.
I had an awful time for a long time and it was really hard on me. “
The last 10 years have been the most difficult and difficult thing I’ve ever had to go through in my life.
I had an awful time for a long time and it was really hard on me.
I thought that it was the end of my career and I felt really bad.”
The only thing I can do is try to move on, make sure I’m moving forward and then I’ll find a new place to be, but I want people to know that I am doing the best that I possibly can to try to find a good place for me to go and to heal.
“As I said before, I had a broken arm and a broken back.
I was in rehab for two years.
I’ve been in rehab now for nine months.
I am feeling a lot better, but it’s a process.”
White, who is currently the chairman of the United Kingdom chapter of the UFC’s governing body, the International Olympic Committee (IOC), also revealed that he will miss out on the opportunity to compete in a major event when the UFC returns to Britain in April.
The former UFC heavyweight champion also touched on the impact of the US president Donald Trump’s policies, including his plan to repeal Obamacare and other government programmes.
“Trump has just had his first inauguration.
I have a very, very good feeling about the new US administration,” he said.
“We’re going to see the US economy start to recover and we’re going as fast as we can to get the new tax cuts in place and that’s going to help.
But we are going to have to have a lot more of our politicians and leaders come together in this country to put their money where their mouth is.”
